You don't have to be a stay-at-home mom to love taking the day off and attending a conference designed specifically for your job as a Mom. I've gone five years now and always found the weekend to be motivational and high energy. Best part? No kids! There are hands-on practical workshops on everything from babies to teenagers, marriage and home management. The key note speaker this year is Ken Davis, and he is hysterical. I heard him a couple of years ago and cried I laughed so hard. If ...

Has anyone used the Dr. Brown's Training Cups? My son will be 9 months old on Jan. 2nd. Would anyone recommend these? I was searching for bottles on Walmart.com and these came up. I was curious about them. If you have used them, can you put formula in them? Thanks!

Hello moms! I have a small daycare in my home for up to three children, ages 6wks-5yrs. One of the children I watch is moving on to a preschool, so I now have a opening for a full-time mobile child aged 9mo-2yrs, which is available starting 9/22/08.

I am the mother of a 14-month-old boy who is sweet and funny and loves other kids! I have a warm and comfy house, and your child will receive all the care and encouragement I give to my own son. My goal is to create a joyful & loving environment ...

We are having a birthday party for our soon-to-be 6 year old son. It is his first big party. My question has to do with presents. My son has been to a few parties where the gift-opening is a little over the top and unbearable, sometimes taking well over an hour. While I would prefer to not have gifts brought at all, my husband feels like we should allow gifts since this is our son's first big party. So my question is whether or not it would be rude to just have him open gifts after the kids ...

Back To School … Eco-Style!

Here are some green tips to apply at school

According to the Green Book © 2007, each American consumes on average over 6 napkins per day! If we all use just 1 fewer napkin per day, it would save 150 million of them from hitting the trash can! Practically speaking, we still need to use napkins and paper towels, but we can set the example for schools to use recycled paper products and encourage less waste overall.

Thank you to Springfield Mom Noel ...

I've been on goodreads.com for a few months now. You can keep a list of what books you want to read, what books you are reading, and what books you have read, and you can review the books you've read. And, you can invite friends to the site and share ideas. When they have updated their lists, you get an email to see what they've added (they find out when you've posted, too). It's a great way to find new books to read, make friends, etc.

Dry Cleaners

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a local dry cleaner that has gone PERC-free. I looked by zip code on nodryclean.com and also on findco2.com, but no companies are showing up. In fact, from one of those two websites, it looks like there is only one such dry cleaner in the whole state. Any suggestions? For now, I guess we just be sure to take our dry cleaning out of its bag immediately, and hang the clothes for an hour in the garage before putting them in the closet.
