You don't have to be a stay-at-home mom to love taking the day off and attending a conference designed specifically for your job as a Mom. I've gone five years now and always found the weekend to be motivational and high energy. Best part? No kids! There are hands-on practical workshops on everything from babies to teenagers, marriage and home management. The key note speaker this year is Ken Davis, and he is hysterical. I heard him a couple of years ago and cried I laughed so hard. If ...

I've been on goodreads.com for a few months now. You can keep a list of what books you want to read, what books you are reading, and what books you have read, and you can review the books you've read. And, you can invite friends to the site and share ideas. When they have updated their lists, you get an email to see what they've added (they find out when you've posted, too). It's a great way to find new books to read, make friends, etc.

Parents would like a way to determine if a particular video game is not too mature for their child. I didn't know anything about it, but 15 minutes into it, I looked at him in shock, it was horrible!

Sci-Fi, gory, bloody and just plain silly! Thank goodness there was a darling dog in it that held my interest from time to time!

Lights at the Zoo

Is anyone going to see the lights at the zoo? Have you been in the past? We just moved here this summer and haven't been to the zoo yet. I know it's pretty small, which actually may be ok if it's too cold. Just wondering if it's worth going to see the lights. Any other must see/do activities for this time of year? My little guy is only 20 months old, but he's full of energy and seems to like all the lights and was even ok on Santa's lap.

I have heard great reviews about the movie Enchanted for kids of all ages, and after seeing it today I agree! Being a Patrick Dempsey fan, it was not a big effort to make it there! Our 3 and 5 year old girls really liked it. The PG rating does apply, the mean old hag is really scary looking (we all jumped!) and there were several thing well over their heads, but overall it's a feel good and FUN movie! Disney, eat your heart out! I saw a variety of teen, tween and younger girls in the audience...a ...
