Training Cups

Has anyone used the Dr. Brown's Training Cups? My son will be 9 months old on Jan. 2nd. Would anyone recommend these? I was searching for bottles on Walmart.com and these came up. I was curious about them. If you have used them, can you put formula in them? Thanks!
