After School Care for Ball Elementary?

Hi! We recently moved into Chatham's school district and my son will be attending Ball Elementary next school year. I am very unfamiliar with Chatham itself but find myself needing to locate after school care for my son . Does anyone have a list of churches, private sitters, organizations that offer child care for after school? The secretary at the school mentioned the YMCA but I would rather have him attend one that is religious or small sized. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

Hi there, welcome to Chatham! My son attends Ball-Elementary as well. While I can't offer any specific advice on after-school care you can take a look at the Chatham website, on the very top menu bar there is a list of churches in Chatham that you could contact.

I think the church across the street from Ball Elem actually is the Y-Not Camp. Remember, the C in YMCA = Christian. The Y after school program, while it does not talk about God or religion, it does maintain strict standards of behaving in accordance with Y values. My son goes to the Y program at Chatham Elem and likes it, and it's low-cost. Additionally, they are open whenever school is closed, including days when it closes partway through the day because of snow, conferences, etc.

Welcome to Chatham! I know the Springfield YMCA offers after school programming at Ball. Also, Pleasant Park Daycare has kids dropped off at their facility as well. I'm sure there are others but try these.
