Child with Asthma? Empty Child with Asthma?

Post by lisamarch Wed Jan 16, 2008 5:34 pm

I just found out about a free program for children with asthma and their parents. It's called Huff and Puff: The Children's Asthma program. My child has asthma and I wanted to share with others.
There are 3 times it's offered. You sign up for one date.
Feb. 9 9-11 a.m., St. John's Children's Hospital, classrooms A and B, 800 E. Carpenter St., Springfield
March 10 6-8 p.m., Early Learning Center, 2501 S. First St., Springfield
April 12 9-11 a.m., St. John's Children's Hospital, classrooms A and B, 800 E. Carpenter St., Springfield
Contact: JoAnn Lemaster, 544-6464, ext. 30095

Child with Asthma? Empty Re: Child with Asthma?

Has anyone attended one of these before?
My daughter has asthma...dx at 13 months. It's been a roller coaster for the last 3 years.
I'm very curious about it. She won't be 4 until March 1st...but the day time one is more appealing to me. I just looked up that Feb 9th AND April 12th are both Saturdays. So I guess it doesn't matter.
I may call for more information.
Thanks for the post!

We attended the Huff and Puff session today. Sadly, only 2 families were there, out of the 4 families who had signed up. Makes you wonder how long they will continue this program. Anyway, I recommend it for families who have kids with asthma, no matter what their asthma triggers or treatment plans. The staff seemed able to help with whatever your situation was, and they were friendly and knowledgeable about the medical community here.
