IL State Fair Empty IL State Fair

I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for things to do at the fair with younger children who are too young for the big rides that doesn't involve just hanging out in the Adventure Village?

IL State Fair Empty fair traditions with kids

Post by Kim L. Little Fri Aug 01, 2008 11:38 am

hi...
our family always hits the 4-H tent across from the grandstand where you can pet baby ducks, pigs, goats, and they usually have a horse in there too.
It's really fun..stroller friendly and fun for kids of all ages and FREE!

If you a NEW to the state fair and even if you aren't- retreat to the Dairy exhibit for yummy ice cream and view the infamous Butter Cow-- yes, make purely of butter...we're in the heartland after all! We are creative with our artisitic outlets!

My kids also love to catch the high dive show and eat corn dogs, funnel cake and the walking taco (fritos, meat, cheese) goopy and delicious!

On August 16th there is going to be a Park Play Station ...details are on our What's Happening page, but it looks like a FUN day to go.

To save money with your kids that like rides...don't forget to purchase your unlimited ride pass ahead of time! details on what's happening page as well....
click on top area with IL STATE Fair logo and look for purchase ride tickets here.
